Trail Foundations - Spring
Wednesdays · May 13 – May 27
6:00–7:00 AM · Bend Area Trails
Build confidence, coordination, and control — one trail at a time.
Trail Foundations is a 3-week guided small-group experience designed for runners who are curious about trails but haven’t wanted to go out alone.
Trail running asks something different of you. The ground shifts, the effort changes, and pace becomes less important than how you move. This series is built to help you understand that in a supportive, approachable way.
Each week, we’ll cover approximately 3–5 miles on trail. Along the way, we’ll pause at different sections to practice specific skills—repeating short segments to work on footing, uphill and downhill movement, and how to adapt to changing terrain.
Sessions are effort-based — not pace-based — with a mix of running and hiking depending on terrain and experience. This is a no-drop group.
You do not need to be an experienced trail runner. The goal is simple: build confidence, learn how to move on trail, and leave feeling comfortable returning on your own.
This is not a race and not a high-intensity workout group. It’s a supportive environment centered on learning, confidence, and shared experience.
